How do I know what type of website I have?
If you’re not sure what type of website you have, then you probably don’t have an application-based site. Just to be certain, try to contact the person who built your website (or, you can also try customer support at your current web host), and ask the following questions:
- Does my website have a database?
- Does my website require any specific program or application in order to function properly (i.e. ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, Tomcat, Ruby, etc,)?
- Was my website built with a special web editor or web builder tool (i.e. FrontPage or a proprietary site-builder tool**)?
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’, or if you have a custom HTML and/or Flash-based site, then you’ll likely need our Application/Database Site Migration Plan.
If you still don’t know what type of website you have, please complete all fields in the form below and one of our migration experts will respond to your inquiry within 24 hours.
**If your site was built using a custom/proprietary site builder tool, it may not be possible to completely migrate and restore all website files to a different web hosting server. In this case, it may be in your best interest to consider a website re-build. Please read about our website development services.
